Separation Anxiety in Dogs

Separation anxiety in dogs occur especially if left alone. A dog is a social animal hence they have a strong tendency to build relationships especially with their handlers. They become hyper-attached to its trainer and if left be, becomes super-stressed. So, when you go, it's more than just a little moaning or a touch of mischief while you're away. There are times that it's becomes a dangerous condition and one of the biggest factors why owners become upset with and give up their pets. Yet there are a number of items that can be done to help. Before coming up with the decision to give up on the pet, consider these things first.

Steps to Re-consider

Chat with the vet first to rule out any medical conditions. Infections, hormonal disorders, and other health issues may trigger dogs to have accidents in the home. It may also be attributed to dog’s behavior where there are times that it seems like an endless and unfinished housebreaking process. Furthermore, some drugs have the ability to cause mishaps. The side effects tend to make the dog create these mishaps. If your dog requires some narcotics, consult with your doctor and see if these are the source of the problem.

Another one is through training. Giving them treats and making sure they listen and keep these rules in mind. However, even the most delicious sweets would not be enough to distract a dog with extreme anxiety. You'll have to eventually acclimate them to being by themselves without you. When they see signals that you're going to quit, such as putting on your shoes or picking up your keys, they can get anxious. So, continue doing the stuff, but don't stop then. Pull your shoes on and then take a seat at the table. Grab your keys and probably enjoy television. For numerous times a day, perform this routine over and over. Short of saying, make it routinary. They will eventually learn that staying at home is more or less a normal action and the dog then begins to be less nervous about that.

To make sure, also use this routine. You just have to go to the other side of the door first. Request that your dog remain, then shut an interior door between you and your dog. In a few minutes, they'll reappear. Increase the period of time you're out progressively. Pull your shoes on and pick up the keys for you. Tell your dog to wait when you're moving into a new place.

When they become more used to the "wait game," the length of time you're out can rise. Using the outside entrance, too, but not the same door you step out every day. Before you go, check that your dog is comfortable.

Only you can predict if the dog is happy for extended stretches to be left alone. When you've worked up to 10 seconds or so apart, give them a stuffed treat. When you quit and when you come back, please remain cool. Built up the period progressively so you can exit the house for many minutes. Keep out for longer and longer stretches thereafter.
